welcome to the The #ReleaseThem Campaign homepage
In a country where arbitrary arrests, incommunicado detentions, and extrajudicial killings are a daily reality, the voices of the innocent are silenced. At ReleaseThem, we refuse to let them be forgotten.
We are a human rights organization dedicated to giving a name and a face to the victims of Cameroon’s brutal system. Our core mission is to shed light on the plight of prisoners of conscience—individuals detained for simply exercising their fundamental rights.
Our Mission in Action
We work tirelessly to:
-
Document the Unseen: We record cases of arbitrary arrests, disappearances, and the inhumane conditions faced by detainees. This evidence is crucial for holding perpetrators accountable.
-
Mobilize for Change: We build a global coalition of academics, policymakers, and civil society groups to stand in solidarity with the victims and amplify their calls for justice.
-
Demand Accountability: We put direct pressure on the Government of Cameroon to release all prisoners of conscience immediately. We also demand an end to enforced disappearances, an improvement in prison conditions, and the prosecution of those responsible for these abuses.
Beyond our advocacy, we are building a powerful global network that strengthens accountability and ensures that the victims’ voices are heard far and wide.
Join us. Together, we can challenge the culture of impunity and work towards a future where justice and dignity prevail for all Cameroonians.
